I read an article almost a year ago about Brooklyn hipsters swimming in dumpsters to beat the summer heat. Apparently it was a testing stage for the dumpster pools, a project that experimented with underused space and materials, keeping urban renewal in mind. Now the dumpster pools are moving to Park Ave. as a part of the city's Summer Street Initiative. Trashy or chic? I don't care, I'm going dumpster diving.
